What is Atherosclerosis?
Atherosclerosis is a degenerative disease that affects more frequently patients 45 years or older, it is related with well known risk factors such as smoking, arterial hypertension, high cholesterol and diabetes.

Atherosclerosis is an occlusive disease of the aorta and its branches due to inflammation or the development of a fatty plaque in the arterial wall. The clinical manifestations are directly related to the affected anatomic territory. When the inferior extremities are affected, it presents as pain while walking or climbing stairs, as a depigmentation of the skin, as muscular atrophy and functional incapacity.

How do we treat it?
