What are Aneurisms?
Aneurisms refer to the dilatation of the arteries caused by the thinning of their walls, it is a disease that affects the older population and if not attended may have catastrophic results. It is the third cause of death for people over 55 years old in the US . The natural history of aneurisms involves their eventual rupture in most cases. Aneurisms affect more frequently the aorta and once diagnosed they must be treated.

Aneurisms are mostly asymptomatic and are usually found in a casual general medical examination.
